Her Day

I never had a grandmother. Along with a thousand other perks when I joined my husband's family; I got Gram.

True, I didn't come into the picture until late in the game, but she has never treated me like a new-comer. In fact, several years ago, I started to look forward to going to Gram's house as much, if not more; that my daughter.

It has been a difficult year for Gram, but she has taken it all like a champ. I just watch and learn as she endures hardship, experiences loss and processes grief.

It may be her birthday, but she is my gift.
