Happy Freakin' Mother's Day
None of the mom's in my neighborhood are inclined to feel sorry for themselves, but open about the fact that "mother's day" couldn't be less of a red letter day in terms of luxury and relaxation. Long work hours, whining children, science project deadlines and temper tantrums don't come to a screeching halt when the hour strikes. That said, our grumbles turn to gratitude when we cap a difficult day (week, month) with each other and drink in the joyful cackles of our children. Who needs breakfast in bed when you have this?

Happy Mother's Day! I'm celebrating you this whole week, as it was a year ago this week that you helped me find my own way into this thing called motherhood. My love for you swells, even now.
Looks like tremendous fun on Fla Ave. Good times. Great kids.
