DC Road Trip

You know your friends and family love you when:

1. They don't even shutter at the amount of noise you have brought into their quiet homes.

2. They feed you a warm breakfast. Wow, we were so spoiled.

3. They still love you even though you find it difficult to carry on intelligent conversation.

4. They don't think you are bad parents when your kids are protesting the finest of foods, in public.

5. They actually seem sad to see you go, despite the destruction you have left behind.

In the interest of lists...

What I learned on my road trip:

1. There is a snail named Gary who meows like a kitten and is the household pet to a sponge, who lives in a pineapple, under the sea.

2. Public bathrooms are a product of the fall of man.

3. My husband is an exquisite driver, and doesn't seem nearly as irritated with his navigator if it is someone other than me.

4. This little piece of heaven is as close to Nirvana as I have ever experienced.

5. Coming home is much easier when you have incredible friends and family who can't wait to have you back.
