The Norwood

Baby A will be in surgery in just a couple of hours. Mother and sister are being discharged this morning so they can be close during the procedure. Dr. Jonas will be performing the operation. He is acclaimed around the world for his expertise in pediatric cardiology. He trained personally with the great man who created the Norwood.

So, as a family, we covet your prayers. Prayers for Dr. Jonas and those assisting him...prayers for baby a's response to the surgery...the families in the waiting rooms and most of all the sweet parents of baby a and baby b (I am not being discreet, there still aren't names).

Apparently the surgery has a very high success rate, but the risk is in the response to surgery in the 5-6 hours afterwards.

B, T, and I have to leave before the surgery begins. This is the most difficult departure we have ever made. We miss our families, but feel so strongly that we need to be here. So, we will be driving and praying for the next 11 hours.

Praise be to the God of the universe. Have mercy on us all.
